I believe objects needed to be coded to take advantage of hardware acceleration but extensions like MooClick and Line Receiver are not graphical extensions anyhow.
Only some graphic objects will need to be optimized or recoded for HWA.
That's what I figured, but I wanted to make sure... thanks... ;)
So when might this upgrade be coming out? Just wondering, rough estimate perhaps.
i noticed that when using HWA the pixels get smoothen. but i guess thats the result of rendering 2D in 3D
Hardware acceleration means that the graphic part of the application gets accelerated by the GPU. MooClick and nongraphical extensions can never be accelerated by the graphic card.
Correct me if it's wrong!!
The only extension I think that this is really needed for is the Flame Object. Any relatively large flames cripple the frame rate.
BrandonC -- We should see a beta of HWA around Christmas time.
Nice, do we get any graphical improvement with this other than framerate increases? I mean, will we get any funky effects (ink effects etc)? It would be nice to see effects such as the standard Photoshop style blend modes.
talking about HWA, any real chance to get it compatible with DX older than 9?
Yes, we'll try to make it work with DX 8 too, but I can't confirm yet if it will work or not.
Yes this would be wonderful.Quote:

Yves, my good man, if you guys manage get HWA to be compatible with DirectX 8.1 or 7, I'll give a nice Christmas gift to you! And I mean it :)
Jam: As Nick said, some graphic cards does not support DX9, but the main reason is that casual game portals doesn't like DX9 only games, since it increases the demand for customer support a lot for that particular (DX9) game.
Sounds like it would be cool to have as much compatibility as possible.
Can't wait guys. Hope development is going well :)
Christmas is coming! HWA too?
I know this can be annoying, but we're all totally excited to start working with HWA.
Keep an eye on the forums as it gets closer to Christmas... ;)
But it is only beta :E
