Paid request for custom extension
Hello, I purchaced MMF2 Developer a year or so ago to write small applications because of the ease of use. I have a personal software project for my stores customer database. I am going to issue magstripe cards to customers that pay for certain services. I have a card reader/writer and can program the data onto the cards but I need and extension to use in MMF where I can swipe the card and my software accept the data. The link from the device to MMF is something that I cannot program. My reader/writer is a usb/serial device. I am willing to pay a fee to anyone who has the knowledge and time to create this extension for me.
Please contact me if interested in this project.

Re: Paid request for custom extension
You expect this to be done < or > $500? You may as well want to provide your hardware, and send it to the extension developer so he/she can test the hardware and/or analyse the drivers.
Re: Paid request for custom extension
I am not asking for a total package here. I need an extension that can interface with a USB-RS232 interface device. Once the link is made I simply need to collect data from the connection.
This would be simular to a USB GPS device I would think.
I am willing to pay for what I get. If what I get will do more, I will pay more.
Re: Paid request for custom extension
What is the make ? I have a makstripe that I got working, make a VB6 app that uses the activex (which doesn't work in MMF2) to get the data and write a file to the H/D, MMF2 checks for if it exists and if it does, reads it, can delete it after and check again later
Re: Paid request for custom extension
The unit is a EZ Writer from IDTECH www.idtechproducts.com
Model# IDWA-336333
Re: Paid request for custom extension
If MMF was a little better in the Activex department it could run with an activex control.
Re: Paid request for custom extension
Thanks for your input on this everyone. I have managed to do exactly what I needed to do with a activex control from www.greenleafsoft.com Currently I am thrilled with the performance and capability of this control in MMF Developer.
Re: Paid request for custom extension
And at just £200, it's a bargain for all! :D ;)
Interestingly, it says it supports some USB devices too. If you got time inbetween making money and drinkin fine wines, could you have a looksee at what other devices it might work with? Could be a useful thing to remember if some of us ever start working in software dev.
:)
Re: Paid request for custom extension
I agree, mmf needs to get its act together with activex, at very least don't add activexs to the list that wonk work.(GUH)
Re: Paid request for custom extension
That may not be a good idea. Imagine:

Lol. Sorry, that was harsh ;) :)
