Did I do it right?

Why won't it work? Did I'm pretty sure that the problem is in line 4 of the code, but I don't know how to fix it. (I'm obviously new to html) Please help me. I've never used Vitalize! before.

EDIT: What would really help me is if someone looked at line 4 of the code and rewrote it for me. That would be much appreciated. :)

My problem is that the game won't start up after it loads. When the progress bar reaches 100%, nothing happens. You can see what I mean if you go to:

Nope. I just looked at the extensions in my game and all of them are vitalized.

I think line 4 should be:

You use Control X in your game, it's not vitalized.

I used to have Control X in the game, but I thought I got rid of it. Is it possible that it's still in the game? I'll take a look at it.

I didn't find the Control X object in any frame. How/where did you find it?

EDIT: I am now uploading the game again. We'll see what happens.

EDIT: Nope. It did nothing. I still have the same problem.

Are you sure the server allows and serves CCN files?
Can you put up a blank one for us to see
Add a string object to the frame and have it say hello.

Also its 5.7 megs big from looking in your folder...

I see you have the MFA in your folder so I downloaded it.

I have not figured it out yet but its not happy and won't work on my server either.

One tip I would give you it so lower your color resolution.
That will reduce your game size about 80% and look the same.

Isn't it PLUGINPAGE? You typed in PLUGIN[color:#FF0000]S[/color]PAGE

I lowered the color resolution down to 256 colors. Although it significantly decreased the file size (by 5mb), it still doesn't work. I now have 2 Bob files on my site. The one with the lower color resolution is called bobx.ccn. I don't know why I saved the other one, but it's still there.

I also took your advice and added a file with a simple string. Here's the link to the page:

It didn't work for me. I don't know what's wrong or how it could possibly be wrong. If it's not working on your server either, then is the problem with my MMF software?

I've just used the debug version of Vitalize to look at the extensions this CCN tries to use. There must be an event somewhere that uses the Control X object. Did you check the global events and the behaviors?

I looked at all of the events. I don't see the Control X object anywhere.

Could you send me your MFA file?

Maybe somewhere there is an event that creates the ControlX object... :confused:

Hmmmm... this happened to me too.. I'm pretty sure that even though I thought my web host supported vitalize, they actully didn't. Try contacting your web host. :confused: :crazy: :)

Thanks for sending me your game. The Control X object is used in the behavior of the A. Bob object in the New Game frame.

Why doesn't the string test work then? It would be useful to have a Vitalize(TM) Diagnostics Program to check how the ccn was build... would be very usful for debugging. :)

The problem is that whenever I contact my web host, they never respond. :(

I also have 2 questions:
1. Why would a web host not support Vitalize!?
2. What do I do if my web host does not support Vitalize!?

1. They may never have heard of Vitalize, I didn't, untill 2 years ago. :D
2. Tell them about it and send them the info and they will set it up.

I sent them an email asking them to set it up. We'll see what happens.

I don't know what that means, but I'll be sure to tell them that. ;)

Well, since they wouldn't respond to an email, I decided to call them. They said that I can add my own mime type via my control panel. We'll see if it works...

Could I have some help? To set up a mime type, I have to enter the mime type and the file extension. Here are some examples:



Mime Type - image/bmp
Extension - bmp

Mime Type - video/x-sgi-movie
Extension - movie

Mime Type - application/vnd.ms-powerpoint
Extension - ppt

OK. I figured it out. The mime type is application/x-cnc, correct? Well, it still isn't working. :(

visit the CCN file, if you cant see it then chances are your webhost is... crap

If you can not type the URL directly into your web browser

IE -- http://www.yourhost.com/directory/yourfile.ccn

It won't work thru the embed statement.
