some .wav files dont play
Due to a disastrous computer crash, I recently bought a new computer with Windows Vista installed. Now some of my (newly downloaded - I lost all the old files) .wav files will not play. For instance, the sound of an airplane engine plays perfectly, but the sound of a bugle playing does not. I have noticed some reference to 'useless Vista security files' here, and wonder if this might be the problem. But then, why do some of the .wav files play and others do not? Any one have any suggestions/thoughts/fixes?
Re: some .wav files dont play
Try re-encoding those sounds to Windows PCM.
Re: some .wav files dont play
I apologize for my lack of knowledge - but do not know what windows pcm is.
Re: some .wav files dont play
Windows PCM is the basic format of .wav files
Try the software Audacity to edit your audio files.

Kris -
Thank you. Downloaded audacity and converted a file - works fine now!

Audacity FTW (You had post #31000 BTW :) )
