Re: new user with questions
There are several ways to fix your problem Kathleen, but which one to choose depends on the way you have set things up already. Best would be to upload your game file so we can take a look at it.
If you go to the mmf2 filearchive forums on this site and make a new post there, an option to attach your file will appear. That's the way to share your sourcecode.
Re: new user with questions
Yes, I think it probably is something that a lot of other games basically do, but I just don't have enough experience yet to know how to do it. Just an obsession with getting this game together.
Could I just send the mfa file to your hotmail address? By the way, I know how to build the game into an exe file, but gmail does not let me send exe files. Any idea how you can send a free standing game to someone who does not have the MMF2 sofware?
Re: new user with questions
Hi Sieg,
I'd like to keep it a little more under wraps than that since I might want to market it when I get it finished. Could I send the mfa file to your email address?
Kathleen
Re: new user with questions
Build the .exe file and then zip it up.
Re: new user with questions
The exe file is not going to do me any good, I need to know how your game works on the inside in order to fix it.
If you want me to fix your car you're going to have to pop the hood ;)
You can send your mfa file to my email: wreedviper@hotmail.com
Re: new user with questions
Thank you! I will definitely do that.
Re: new user with questions
I tried zipping it up, but gmail still tells me that for security reasons they don't allow me to send executable files.
Is there any other way to send a built game to someone? Do any of the other free email servers let you do it, like hotmail or yahoo? If so, I could get an account with them and send games through them, but have any incoming mail forwarded back to my gmail account.
Re: new user with questions
You can rename the .exe file to .txt and tell your friends to rename it back to .exe once they got it.
Re: new user with questions
Yahoo! does allow sending of exe file, because it scans all files that are uploaded. ;)
Re: new user with questions
Thanks, Sieg! That sounds like a good way to do it.
