Active Picture Resize Methods
Another nightmare.
There are three resize methods to choose in the properties of an active picture object. None, Fast and Resample.

So i expected to get none, linear and bicubic results. Surprisingly i found None, None and a method where i cannot decide what it is. Shows horizontal and vertical patterns like Linear resizing but is much smoother.
I made a little app to test it. It creates a random greyscale picture, saves it, loads it into the AP's and resizes it then. First AP is setup as None. Second is setup as Fast, and third is setup as Resample.

What is the None good for when the result is the same as the Fast one?
Why do i only find two methods, Fast and Resample, in the actions when the properties provides three?
Why does the Resample Method look stretched at the lower and right border? Looks like there is no resample method used at all, but blurring, forgetting about borders to fix. I call this one a Bug.
Finally, is there a picture extension that can do Linear AND Bicubic?
Re: Active Picture Resize Methods
"None" means "no resize". It's automatically set to Fast if you resize the picture and haven't selected "Resample".
Re: Active Picture Resize Methods
Ah, i see. So there are just two methods available. Nearest Neigbour or the resample one. But it resizes also with settings None selected. So i would say there is a settings item too much then :)
And what about the stretch effect at the lower and right side with the Resample Method? This doesn't happen in Bilinear nor in Bicubic method. Can we expect a fix here?
Re: Active Picture Resize Methods
"None" is not useless, it allows you to set the image back to its original size in the frame editor if you resized it by mistake.
No idea about the stretch effect, I haven't noticed it in the few tries I've just made.
Re: Active Picture Resize Methods
Okay, accepted. Haven't thought of the reset case :)
Hmm, the stretch effect, for me it is very visible. Here another shot what i mean. There is a pixel in every corner. Now have a look what happens in the resampled picture. Really very visible effect. And reproduceable with every picture you resize :)

It shifts by one pixel to the right and one pixel downwards.
