Easy Media Player 1.0 release (Freeware)

[color:#666666][size:20pt]Take charge of your media playback!
This is EMP, a lite yet powerful media player (For Windows only) made in MMF2Dev and powered by DirectX (via the Direct Show object). Enjoy your music, and not the sometimes long wait times caused by other media player memory hogs like Windows Media Player 11. I know there are several other lite media players out there on the web, but none quite like this one.
Enjoy this free program, its only 652KB uncompressed, and uses an average of 1.62MB of RAM at runtime, even with a huge playlist! Is that impressive or what!? XD
Just drag, drop and play! Its that easy.
Feedback is welcome, feature suggestions too.

Re: Easy Media Player 1.0 release (Freeware)
Very polished; i like it.
For first update i would suggest:
*Either remove thick frame, or make it dynamically resizable.
*consider allowing us to minimize (I end up moving and in turn losing it on the side of my screen)
*There is a small bug navigating between tracks (It shuffles appropriately if shuffle is enabled)
*It is semi compatible with video, i would suggest making it fully compatible or fully non compatible.
*Also just to comply with what users expect, you may consider having it play whatever you just added (especially if nothing is currently playing)
If you chose to make any of the above changes, but have trouble implimenting them; i would be happy to help.
Nice work
Re: Easy Media Player 1.0 release (Freeware)
id also advise you to look into making it when you resize the window, all the buttons etc adapt so it keeps looking nice!
Also look into using M3U/WPL/XML so your playlists can be used with other programs/opened from other programs! Makes it more user friendly then
Re: Easy Media Player 1.0 release (Freeware)
Thanks for the feedback!
*I removed the Thick frame, up untill now I didn't know that it was what enabled resizing of the windows.
*Double clicking the systray Icon did minimize the window, but I added the minimize button to do the same thing anyways. Also, there is a mini mode too, in the upper right corner of the window.
*Track navigation seems to work fine for me. Can you give me something more specific on that?
*Its not intended to play video, but the Direct show object supports it. The add file button is filtered but the Drag n Drop function isn't, because I don't feel like having it check every files extension. Maybe in a later update.
*I added auto playback of the last file dropped in any given drag n drop, it seems weird to me but it implemented now. I think I'll make it togglable, on by default.
Thank you once again for your feedback, an update will be posted within the next 24-48 hours.

Awesome
(Navigation bug) Enable shuffle, then click either previous or next track (make sure you have at least 3 tracks in the play list)
Also, i think it would be very possible to integrate video capability (basically depositing the buttons and reshaping the window to make room for the visible direct show.)
Re: Easy Media Player 1.0 release (Freeware)
Don't want to be a party pooper, but isn't the file archive meant to post examplecode? Why not post final exe stuff in the community section? It is always very annoying when you search for a programming solution and you find useless exe stuff instead. :/
Re: Easy Media Player 1.0 release (Freeware)
...and no screenshots? :)
Re: Easy Media Player 1.0 release (Freeware)
Sorry Tiles, this is my first time posting something like this, maybe I'll release the source later, but the code is rather messy and I don't feel like commenting it.
Screenshots coming soon...
The playlist shuffle glitch is because its random, so sometimes it picks the same file or the file next to it.
Other playlist formats are not going to be implemented at this time, mainly because I don't understand how to make it read or write any of them, that's why EMP has its own .emp file.
*Drag n Drop function now filtered as well as the Add button.
*Basic video support added, mini mode does not support video display.
Updated! The same download link should work.

This server seems to be down. Can't get the file or see the screen shots? :(

You must have caught my server at a bad time, it seems to be working just fine right now. Try again.
