I'm in really great need of a download extension that should be able to download files easily and without causing any appearent slowdown to the application. Not only that, but I need it to be able to pause and resume downloads, ie., begin download, end the application and be able to resume it when the application reboots.
I hope this is possible and I'm willing to pay for it. Price is on developers side.

Download object? :P It doesn't slow down the app, and you're able to pause/resume. 4 downloads at the same time max.
By "slow down" i mean freeze at some points for a few seconds.
And it should be able to resume the download even after restarting the app.
Maybe you can use the binary object and live receiver to resume the download.
It's worth a shot...
Use, multiple threads and the download object.

The dotNET extension might be an option, but it can turn out to be quite an overhead if you don't already have it in your application.
Perhaps cURL for .NET could be useful to you :)
