Re: Internet high score to DavidN
Hello ,
first I want to thank you for writing the Online High score database. Being a basic clicker, I still haven't finished studying it, but I want to use your tutorial for my website. The idea would be to be able to store , not game results , but my students' test results. I'd like them to be able to take tests online , have their results sored in a database , then give students / parents the possibility to see the student's progress. However so far I've just been able to display an online testsvia VITALIZE and the quiz object, however, i've done nothing in terms of linking the test to as tudent database :(
NOW here's my question to David : You mentioned that using Live receiver could be more efficient than moosock to communicate with a database...do you think you could update the tutorial to include a guide to using this Livereceiver object ?
Thanks for answering !
Eric
(p.s :I've just read about Jeff's tutorial ... I have to check it out I guess ;)
Re: Internet high score to DavidN
I don't know about other people, but I would advise against livereceiver. It seems to like to crash Firefox. Or at least it has in all of my tests with it.
Re: Internet high score to DavidN
Does my example crash for you?
Just change the URL encoded over to the same functions in String Parser 2 and you should be good to go.
Re: Internet high score to DavidN
Jakinbandw, it sounds like you are using a using an older version of Live Receiver that would do exactly that.
Updating to the latest version should rid you of that bug.
Re: Internet high score to DavidN
Ah, I'll see if I can find a newer version then. I just got it off of one of the extension lists.
Re: Internet high score to DavidN
The newest version is always here: http://www.clickteam.com/epicenter/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=45067&page=1
The only place you can rely on to get the newest versions of my extensions is the Released extensions forum, as I don't release them anywhere else.
Re: Internet high score to DavidN
You release them on your site (Y)
