!MULTIMEDIA FUSION FAQ! - please pin that topic
I want to make MMF2 FAQ with your help.
About format
In your posts please add questions&answers in following format to preserve integrity.
Q: How to close MMF?
A: Click File->Exit
Let's begin!
I have some Q&A for begin.
Q: How to play non-midi music in MMF2?
A: Everything is in this article. If you want to play MP3s, you should use DirectShow object.
Q: Can I make 3D games like Counter-Strike, Quake or Colin McRae Rally?
A: No. This is, for now, impossible. But personally I think the Clickteam should move their a... ngle and make Multimedia Fusion 3D for creating 3D games.
Q: Does MMF support 3d, anyway?
A: Yes, but in limited way. Read about 3D actives and OpenGL object.
Q: How to download extension very fast?
A: Use FusionUpdater.
Re: !MULTIMEDIA FUSION FAQ! - please pin that topic
You should really use OGG for music and not midi or mp3.
The manual (Help->Contents) covers most of what people need to know to use MMF.
Re: !MULTIMEDIA FUSION FAQ! - please pin that topic
But most people do not read help. And this FAQ should be really pinned.
Q: Should I read help?
A: Yes. I say more: You must do it. In other case you computer will explode.
Re: !MULTIMEDIA FUSION FAQ! - please pin that topic
I read the manual! I think it should be done after every major software purchase. Just make your FAQ say:
Q: Should I read FAQ?
A: No, just read the manual (Help->Contents).
See, it goes both ways? :P
Re: !MULTIMEDIA FUSION FAQ! - please pin that topic
You read, but most people not. And I see. Both ways... And it should be serious FAQ. That FAQ that can be pinned.
Re: !MULTIMEDIA FUSION FAQ! - please pin that topic
Actually, i think most people do read the MMF help files etc. I don't see why anyone would ignore them, or why anyone would choose a "FAQ" thread instead. I also don't see why this FAQ should be pinned when there is a far more functional search feature at the top of the forums.

You say it should be a serious FAQ, but it doesnt really read that way :D

Funny, MMF2 actually does come with a manual too. Whether or not people read it or even still have it is up to them, but it does come with a manual that goes over the basics.
Re: !MULTIMEDIA FUSION FAQ! - please pin that topic
Darkhog, the best thing to do is host your FAQ on a server, so it would always be there, and give everyone the link. That way you can update it as you please and let everyone know.
These forums are good FAQ's just from the postings. An FAQ section would become repetitive and very large, and in some cases, would just be echoing questions and answers from the postings.

Re: !MULTIMEDIA FUSION FAQ! - please pin that topic
I usually read FAQs. The manual is a reference document. It should provide detailed information about all functions of the software, which is usually a lot of redundant information - whereas an FAQ contains the stuff people usually have problems with, and thus the things I REALLY need to know, which, if I'm a beginner too, I'm likely to stumble into as well.
Both the manual (that details all functions) and FAQs (that actually contain questions that ARE asked FREQUENTLY) serve a different but useful purpose.

I my memory serves correct, isn't the manual just a carbon copy of Choco-break with a glossary of terms?
Re: !MULTIMEDIA FUSION FAQ! - please pin that topic
It would be nice to have a FAQ that covers alot of the things people stumble on. The manual, while helpful for very basic things, would be way more helpful if it told you more about what MMF2 does under the hood. Things like how it deals with Qualifiers and Behaviors is basically missing from the manual (other than a definition of the term). But the forums are pretty much a giant living FAQ. So maybe a single FAQ is kind of redundant?
