Hi, i noticed on sphax's website he has a extension Sphax AVI's and it says it needs fusion updater to get it, but it doesnt seem to belisted in there, nor anywhere on here?
Anyone know anything about it? Done a search but couldnt find anything.

I looked for this extension and requested it quite a while ago, but I don't think it was ever done/released. I would love this extension, as well. :)

tut shame, i would realy love this extension. Infact... i came accross it whilst searching for an active x version, as i had given up trying to do it within mmf, so i was quite surprised when i found it... but now dissapointed again! lol.

Sphax needs to confirm this :) I want to try that extension too.
This extension works but it crashes if some video Codecs are used... I must take some time to work on it and finish it... Currently this extension is in the same development stage as it was 1 year ago so I've not released it.
Active Direct Show pretty much does the same thing anyway, I believe
(though there really is only a single use for video extensions anyway :) )
huh? what direct show can save a list of images as a single avi file?

Does most of the sphax extensions still need fusion updater? It always reports as a virus in mcafee for some reason.

As you have maybe seen, I've released the "Sphax AVIs object".

Sphax, i finally got Fusion updater to work again :D
I have a few suggestions -
If the last relases are the same as installed it will still show as new, it also highlights some updated modules as new.
There needs to be a way to hide updated extenions with a toggle button etc because it's annoying to scroll as it does not update well. This would just make it easier to see what was new all the time.

Is there plans for a way to load a avi and convert it to images?
Now we are getting HWA im guessing we could use it to apply effects to images them output them back to a saved image. Then we could make VJ apps and they load in the videos and then you edit them and convert back to avi after. This would be a great feature and i couldn't see how to do this at the moment.
The video compression box takes a while to load in the main example. Im guessing it's processing files before it loads, maybe you could make it do that after the convertion is chosen. This would make it seem smoother/faster when making the avi.
When testing and selecting 'Microsoft H.261 Video Codec' i got a error message. With other formats it was ok but i havent tested all on the list.
It's a spiffy extention. Whats the restrictions on using it for commercial projects?
Wow, this is a great and very useful extension!
I agree with Atom, a possibility to load also avi's would be a great addition.
And - maybe a suggestion for a new extension - a feature to edit the soundfile (i.e. cutting, extracting a soundclip from inpoint to outpoint)
would make the video editing capabilities of mmf2 perfect. :)

No, it's not due to the use of Codecs, you are restricted by each Codec's license but it's not my concern.
When I have developed this extension, I wanted to release it for free to let everybody use it and create powerful applications with MMF2, but I wouldn't like to let people use it for commercial projects.
That's my choice, I hope you'll respect it. However, if you absolutely need this extension for a project which will be sold, you can ask me by PM and we'll see what we can do.
I you don't want to respect this, please, don't use this extension.
not that I am intending to use it in a commercial project, but why is that exactly? It seems kinda silly that a person who actually manages to get his project published and contain this extension can't, just because the extension developer didn't feel like (but could have easily) given permissions to do so.

@MechaBowser, it's simple, initially (some years ago) I wanted to keep this extension for myself but I always like to share what I develop. When the Click community ask me where they can find this extension and what happened to it, I said to me "it's too sad this extension is still not debugged and sleep on my HDD without use". So I decided to release it under this license.
Thanks to this release and license, you can use this extension but not for commercial projects.
If you really want to make a commercial project which uses this extension, you must ask me for a specific waiver or another extension with another license.
If you don't agree with that, do not use this extension.
Yes I do realize that you chose this license for this extension and I should be grateful, but why limit it to non-commercial exactly? There's no benefit at either so it doesn't make much sense to me.
Ok, i have a similar view to MechaBowser though. Also if it's a dev time thing and you want a return why not sell a license for commercial usage?
Also i notice some extensions have license icons/notes now which is good to have because it needs to be clear to a user thats the case. I think also in the actual MMF app it should indicate that the extensions cannot be used for commercial useage in the objects list or there usage conditions for all extensions like this which have restrictions.
As MechaBowser say though it seems odd to have these restrictions. Also the next thing that im guessing will happen is people will be asking for a extension that does the same they can use for commercial use. I know now i have seen this and it's given me some ideas for cool apps so i want MMF to have a similar option i can use without restrictions.
I was originally thinking i could make a VJ app with this and i still could without selling but the way i see it is there are some great VJ apps and video apps already. If i were to make something decent it would probably be commercial or possibly as it developed but i can't do this now so i will avoid using the extension.
Will vectorial shape be the same and have limitations?
The public license of VectorialShape is not defined currently and will not be before the final version (VS is currently in beta stage). About the supposed limitations, there's no specific limitations currently and I don't think it will be the case.
Also, as the Creative Commons license of the object say:
"Any of the [...] conditions can be waived if you get permission from the copyright holder."
So if you want to use this extension for commercial project, ask me and we'll speak about that.
Also, all my objects have a message box when you drop them on the frame. This message box have a text which describes briefly the license and the website.
Remember most of my extensions are free for use and just ask you credit me for the usage of them... That's all.
Please do not blame me that some of my extensions must be "brought" for commercial use and free for other uses.

The license is now displayed for each extension by CS and you can click on each logo to read the detailed license (most of them are Creative Commons licenses).
@Zabooza: In fact, ALL my extensions can be used for free for non commercial use and most of them can be used even for commercial use.
