Can I hide a certain type of object ........
There's probably a simple way of doing this but I'm missing it. Let's say I created 100 objects, all the same, and grouped them all together in group 'Bad'. When I go to the event editor or the frame editor, I have to scroll miles and miles to get past the 100 objects. I know I can turn them off by turning off all active objects for example, but that also hides all the other objects and also the group 'Bad' in this example. Is there a way to just hide one type of object so that it's not in the way on the event editor?
Re: Can I hide a certain type of object ........
You could just rearrange them so the unnecessary ones are to the far right, that seems like a good plan.
Re: Can I hide a certain type of object ........
You can use folders in Multimedia Fusion 2. In the event editor, right click on one of the object and select "Insert Object Folder". You can then drag objects into this and collapse the folder into a single icon.
Re: Can I hide a certain type of object ........
Ah thanks, didn't know about the folders, those pretty much do the trick. Shame you can't just use the folder as a single object - you have to open it again to work with it - but I suppose that makes sense because it might have different things inside it. Still a handy little feature.
Re: Can I hide a certain type of object ........
but if all your objects are the same, why do you create 100 different instances of them? Just create one object and clone it 100 times then you only need to apply actions to that one object.

Yer i always get those 2 mixed up :)
Re: Can I hide a certain type of object ........
The way I remember it is, Clone makes an Identical copy, so does duplicate. Actually I can't see where I was going with that.
Re: Can I hide a certain type of object ........
I am pretty sure clone makes a second instance of the same object in the frame. So if you cloned 'active' you will have 2 'active' objects in the frame.
Duplicate makes a second seperate object the same as the one selected. So you would get 'active 2' if you had 'active' selected.
Or its the other way around. :/
Re: Can I hide a certain type of object ........
Other way.
Clone means the new object gets a new name, and can be edited to be different.
Duplicate means it is another instance of the same object.
