Hey, not really a technical support question as such but still - two things.
1) How secure is it going to be, is it possible to rip open a flash file and find out all kinds of details? IE: Sending information to a database, and including a md5 key. Would that key be retrievable?
2) Any chance we can get some kind of ETA on a release now? :) It's a few months down the line.

1) It's pretty safe to assume that anything in the hands of a user can be ripped apart. So, yes. Anyone that pretends otherwise doesn't understand how hacking works.
This fall means Autumn/ late September if I'm not mistaken.
Anything is hackable. Luckily assets are protected, and anyone who just decompiles the swf won't learn much.
if something can be encrypted, it can be dycrypted.
The only thing that will be de-compilable is the program of MMF runtime. And honestly I do not care if someone sees me code (I am rather proud of it 8-). The pictures, the events are protected in the ccn file included in the flash file. The sounds are not though, as I have no choice.
I have my own question:
How much will it cost?
Prices are not defined yet.

Wait.... so the flash export won't be part of an update package? We most likely have to pay for the update and/or extra features? If that would be the case, it's like buying whole new software.
Well........ Considering the team has come along way in developing these features & flash exporter, I could see why. But still seems like a bummer if I wasted my money for software that doesn't have such a feature, until later, new software includes these features.
So, is like the flash export going to be like part of a 3.0 package, or still within the 248, 249 or whatever updates? I still have v248, seeing that 249 is still under BETA I take it (since the auto updater thing on my 248 is not finding any updates yet).

MMF2 was released years ago, and when you buy it you buy that retail version. All of the updates that we have gotten between release and now have been free. Remember that Clickteam is very generous. They give us so much for free. :)
There will be more runtimes in the future that will also cost money, and you should be happy to buy them! Because if you use them right you can earn much, much more money than it cost to buy the runtimes.

This is a lot! Most companies bundle updates with a new version number and charge full prizes every year (*cough*..Adobe..*cough*)
MMF2 already has the power to create any 2D game you want. And with flash you just reach a wider audiance then before! Imagine to put demos of your games online to try for free with flash, no one needs to install anything and if they like it they can download or puchase the full version.

I said it already. Because of the mp3 codecs. You can't have mp3 for free. Clickteam had to pay for them, and now each of you will have to pay for them too, since mp3 wasn't invented by clickteam.Quote:

Clickteam has to pay, of course. If you want swf Flash export you need to implement MP3. MP3 libaries are not free and cost cash. Distributing those costs cash again. So they can't distribute on there own for free it would be a big loss on there side for every download.
MMF converts all of the samples in your game to MP3 when compiling to a SWF. MP3 is the only audio format that can be used, because it is the only audio format that can be played via actionscript. Adobe should have supported Ogg, but they choose not to. :|
@N64Mario its an export option, a very important export option. If you dont understand the value of the export then perhaps the feature isnt for you... .but i can say 100% that nearly everyone else knows how important a flash feature is :D. What is your only option for flash games, it is using Flash... It is upto you what you want to use :)
Lets be sensible here, CT has released nearly 10 patches with many new features for Free, I dont know any other software company that would have done that. In fact this would have involved in new versions from other companies no doubt. Theres Java and HWA free as well (and thats been aLOT of work).Quote:

If your suggesting that we should be the only software company in the world to keep releasing things for free, then really you are crazy :D
