Accelometer (tilt sensors, motion control)?
Is it possible to access the accelometer of a phone via an extension in MMF2 Java mobile runtime? Is it feasible to produce such an extension?
Most new high-end mobile phones today feature an accelometer and this enables some fun and innovative gameplay mechanisms and concepts, so it would be a great addition to MMF2's abilities in mobile.
Re: Accelometer (tilt sensors, motion control)?
Are any of those high end mobile phones running Java? or are we talking Blackberry and Iphone?
Re: Accelometer (tilt sensors, motion control)?
So far, I only know Android and iPhone with accelerometers...
Re: Accelometer (tilt sensors, motion control)?
Yes, many S60 devices have accelometers, especially Nokia Nseries devices, like N95 8Gb, N82, N93, N79, N85, N97...
Re: Accelometer (tilt sensors, motion control)?
Possibly something that will require a custom extension at some point since its not a standard feature of all phones?
I would also like to see a blackberry pearl extension along with the ability to get all the keys.

The HTC touch diamond has an accelerometer. My girlfriend has one... if you ever need to test java on a device equipped with an accelerometer, you can contact me.
Re: Accelometer (tilt sensors, motion control)?
The HTC is android... the standard Java wont work on it. You will have to wait for the Android export for that :)
Re: Accelometer (tilt sensors, motion control)?
No it isn't... it's windows mobile...
I made an application that worked for the HTC, so I'm 100% sure it works
