Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
Excelent extension,
-
Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
Wow first object that's not compatible with XP.
I'll have to try it out on Win7 tonight.
-
Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
Cool, my idea realized, big thanks Stephen1980 !!! :D
BUG ? : When I click on "more details" button, the bar doesn't show while expansion of tab... (tested with Vista)
SUGGESTION: Add "GetAppName$" expression; handy for the title() action ...
I'm testing some features ...
-
Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
Very nice extension
Thanx Stephen1980

Could you give me some more details? Which dialog are you using, etc? Thanks.
Thanks for all the great feedback, guys. :)

I tested your example, when I click "Show OK Dialog" button.
After in dialog shown, I click on "See details" icon button ; unfortunally, the footer + bar disappears while the "expansion animation" and appears again... vice-versa when I click again ...
OTHER SUGGESTION : Add "Dialog opens (id) condition" ;)

Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
This is a problem with the Vista API. The animations are built-in.

Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
Nice extension! If you get this compatible with windows 2000/XP that would be great.
-
Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
This is a really nice object :)
Im just wondering though, if i did compile a exe and then ran it on a XP machine what would happen? would it instantly crash it or worse? Is there plans to make it possible to work on XP machines also? I know that a lot of people use XP still so im just wondering about compatibility if i used it.
Even if XP never happens though it's still great and i will use it for various projects on my vista computer. Thanks for the extension :D

The dialogs would just not show up.

Ok, so it shouldn't be a problem to run on XP then thats good to know. :D
-
Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
this is excellent :D
now get it out of beta!
-
Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
It should be released today or tomorrow. :)

Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
is there any chance of actual html support? I'm not talking about anything major, just <b>, <u> etc. instead of just <a>
-
Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
I though of that, but apparently that was the only html support added to the api, just for links. :(

Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
Well, can't wait for the stable release. Really wish there was some XP compatiability though so I wouldn't have to make two popups different every time.
-
Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
I am checking into a couple of options for XP support, but for now this will be released for Vista only. I apologize.

Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
also in all due respect, I like that you release it as a beta extension, but I really hate the startup popup. It disables me from really testing the extension out as I can't use it for anything D:
-
Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
Sorry. I have my reasons for the startup popup. But have no fear, I will remove the popup and release this extension today. :)

Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
I noticed you released it in the released extensions forum, but you did not include a link. Where can I find v1.0?
Thanks

Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
Sorry. I was having problems with the installer. Hopefully its fixed now. :)

Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
Sweet.
Is there a way to have the dialogues not be modal? And is there an action to close a dialogue?
-
Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
No, sorry. The Dialogs have to be "modal", and that is why I didn't add an event to close the dialog. It closes on whatever button you press automatically.
I am in the process of adding "Navigation Dialogs", which will allow you to do change text and do other events within the dialogs themselves, even show another dialog without closing the first. :)

Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
:(
that's a bit of a disappointment. That renders it useless for progress bars etc.
though I will definitely use it

What do you mean? How are you wanting to use the progress bars?
stephen1980

Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
You can't change a progress bar's value.

Exactly. If I have some kind of progress that I want to show to the user, that's impossible because the application is paused.
-
Re: Task Dialog Object (Beta Release)
Oh. I didn't add that option, because they are model. I will be sure to add that option into the navigational dialogs.
EDIT: I will add an option to set the progress bar position and release it as soon as I can. Hope this helps. :)

still anxious about this! Can't wait! :D
also, would it be possible to add a "on URL clicked"? This would be neat for when you need the url to direct to something inside the application :D

Working on it as we speak. It's taking a little longer than I thought, because I may have found a way to make the dialogs "non-modal". ;)
