Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Oh, I forgot something... In this version, in Java Stand-alone and Java Applet when you press the CTRL key when you run the application, MMF builds the .JAR/HTML file and launches it (= launches the Java interpreter or the browser).

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Thanks for the great update! Excellent new features. :)
I've found some bugs:
- Special characters (for example á, é, ó) work on PC when you save to Java but they aren't displayed correctly on Mac. However, this can be corrected by loading all of the texts from an external file. This can be done only in standalone Java applications, though.
- Just to remember: "horizontal autoscroll" option for the Edit Box object does not work in Java. This is a feature that can be necessary for many MMF2 users.
I think this features would be also useful in MMF2's Java:
- Only a specific .wav file works in Java. As MMF2 converts all of the audios into the correct format in Java mobile, it would be useful if they were converted also when user builds a Java internet applet or a standalone Java application.

Thanks for the great update! Excellent new Advanced Game Board !

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Great work as usual, but I can't believe we're on a 10th BETA for B249!! Seems to be really causing some fusses!!
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Thanks for the update. And yes it seems like this version has been in beta for a year!

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
"Number of objects" in frame propaties minimum limits is 300?
It is written that 100 is the minimum in help, but not work 100 limit.
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
sorta an ostrich problem. Why would you ever *want* to set the maximum objects below 300. It can be coded around easily

Wasn't sure if this was a known issue with Windows 7 or not, but I don't recall getting it when I was in the Release Candidate. I'm a tad late on installing a lot of stuff after I got Windows 7. I'm just installing it as I need it, and I didn't have a reason to install MMF2 up till now.

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Weird, I don't get this message on Windows 7 (unless I got it and I don't remember).
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
I don't have it also on my Win7 Professional but I've got Developer version not Standard.
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
I got that message on Windows 7 Professional, but it only appeared once (the first time I ran MMF 2). I think it's a permissions issue with the MMF 2 updater.
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Don't use the auto updater. Manually download builds.

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Another bug: String object's wipe background with color does not work.
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Unchecking "permanent shortcut" in the menu editor doesn't work..?
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
What do you mean by "doesn't work"?
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
I mean: there's no effect when you check the "wipe background with color" option.
@ Looki: You mean, you unchecked this option but keyboard shortcuts activate still the menu items? It works for me correctly...
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
I uncheck it, re-open the dialog, and it's checked again.
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Oh I see, the change is not validated if there is no shortcut for the menu entry, I'll see why. Minor issue as if there is no shortcut this option is just ignored anyway.
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Minor issue. Animation editor. Select a direction in the direction field down left. Import an image. The white square at the top of the arrow becomes black to represent a filled direciton. Now import an animation to a empty direction. The field stays white as it would be a blank direction. You need to leave and reenter the animation editor.

Then it was really a bug, sorry Looki, I checked it in beta #9 of build 249 and I didn't see it...

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
I don't know if it's just this object but anti-alias does not seem to work well with the new Active Shape object -

Doesn't seem to have much of an effect on the edges. I tested in normal and HWA and both are the same with not much edge smoothing. Have not tested with the very latest beta though so it may make a difference.

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Just curious, will Build 249 ever be final? It`s in Beta since eons ... :)

My guess is they want a 2.5 release which is quite stable and will maybe make news about it.

That's probably because there are two massive updates to the final 249: HWA and Java. Both runtimes have tons of possibilities of bugs due to porting MMF2 features.
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
I'd be happy with one stable version which covers at least the non-HWA/Java stuff.
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
There are some bugs with essential features that have to be corrected, I think.
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Thanks guys ;)
Hm, i stumbled across something else. I tried to select all code in the Event Editor. But with CTRL+A i can not longer select all code. I am pretty sure that this has worked before.
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
You also can't shift select and then click-drag code in the Event List Editor. The selection is deselected the moment you click. Not sure if this used to work this way, since I recently starting the Event List Editor. But it is inconsistent with the Event Editor at the very least.

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Crash with frame settings/fade in. Have this one reduced to one event with the Hi score object. When fade in is set for the frame, the application will crash. When i turn off the fade in, the frame lodads without problems. When i change the event from Start of Frame to Run this event once it also works. Seems that the fade effect collides with the hi score object with a start of frame event here.
I hope it is reproduceable. This was not my first time where i had problems with fade effects :)
Example file can be found here: http://www.clickteam.com/epicenter/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=169816#Post1698 16
As a suggestion, it would be neat when you could attach pictures and files here too, and not only in the file archive. Would make the second post obsolete :)

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Check the "Create before frame fade-in transition" checkbox in the objects runtime properties and it won't crash.

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
A few simple grid (Frame Editor) requests -

Thanks for that hint :)

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
The Timer object only allows for using expressions for > and <, not =.
-
Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Funny one. I had changed the event in question to Run this event once, then ticked "create before fade in", and then it crashed again. Have unticked it, and now it is back working :)

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
A request/editor bugs relating to widget creation -
If your in the event list and you right click a number and select 'Edit the actions' it should have a button/link at the top to return to the events editor. I say this because if your doing it with a widget it means you have to exit the list and go though the objects menus to get back to the Events editor.
In this editor you cannot use all the workflow commands available in the main Events editor either like the Ctrl+Click to multi select things.
As far as i know with widget events you cannot use the 'Event List Editor' as it always takes you to the frames events list with the icons and view options, i can't find a way to do it for a widgets events.

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Update request for the counter object -
Counters should have horizontal alignment options like the string object has. Using workaround like sending to strings and using expressions seems a bit much maybe and as the code is there for the strings already it should be simple to add hopefully.
Idea was from this thread -

Press the ESC key.

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Or the close button in the top-right IIRC.

Re: MMF2 Build #249 - Beta #10
Have you selected the property "create before fade in transition" in the properties of the hiscore object? If so, you should untick it.
