High Jump Over Verticle Platforms

I am using DavidN's platform tutorial. I have ALMOST mastered the verticle platforms.

Here's the problem.

1. Quickly go under the platform and let it reach back down. You'll automatically go on it when it touches it.

2. When you jump from under the platform. The platform will give you a boost.

What's the best way to explain, you say? Test it out for yourself.

What can you fix?
1. Move around when the platform reaches the bottom. You'll fall off. I can't fix this for the life of me.

2. The jump boost for when you jump under the platform.
