Inventory Screen Help

Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone had a example they could give me demonstrating a pull-up inventory screen in my game? One like in the zelda games; where you hit the start button and the screen pops up with your score and amount of lives, as well as letting you scroll through items while the gameplay outside the screen itself is paused. Any help would be greatly appreciated, my game is complete except for this, and I would give credit to anyone who helped me:) I have tried a billion ways to do this, but none have been successful.

???One question about the pause one though. For some reason when I load it the MMF2 runtime crashes on me and won't open the file. Any alternate ways? Your other tutorials taught me the basic grid movement, I just need to know the pause current gameplay and bring up inventory part. Thanks.

I have a Custom Pause Screen example, on my website, that brings up a screen that can be adapted to an inventory. Right now it brings up a battle screen.
