A couple pennies a day but then my games are really not that good.
I know one person who was in the beta test had a couple games and might have gotten $20 in a month or 2.
Addictive 247 has one on a game now

Guess it really depends on the game -- make a good game people want to play they will slog thru the ad over and over.
I put one at the start of the game that I put up to test the Flash runtime and have earned 18 cents in a week for my trouble :) That was from about 100 views total - it would have been a lot more effective if I'd done it on a different prototype that accidentally went semi-viral.
I'd initially thought that having an advert at the start of a game wouldn't be very well received, but nobody's complained about it. They're worth having around, if you can draw the traffic to your site!
I've made about $2 and put up my game this morning: www.graduategames.com/minima/minimatime.php
I selected to have it distributed through mochi's system and also added it to newgrounds manually.
Adding mochi ads was easy thanks to the new Flash exporter.
Our game was only accepted yesterday so too early to say how much it will make. I don't think it will be a lot but every little helps (as they say at Tesco) :)
I'll have a little minigame up hopefully before the weekend ends. I'd be happy (or sad) to report how it goes after a week.
I braved Newgrounds and found that the number of views you can get there is... surprising - 500 in under 12 hours just from the one site, and that's for a game that people thought was distinctly average!
And on Newgrounds or Konkregate you don't need their ads system?
Good question, also, I wonder what they feel about mochi ads on your game? I can't find any details where they say NOT to have it.Quote:

"$99.98 to go until you're paid!"
btw, anyone know if its possible to make an online hiscore that works with the .swf file from anywhere if i submit to newgrounds etc.. because currently it only works from the same server as i have my .php files (with get object)

some details on that in this thread: http://www.clickteam.com/epicenter/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=179391&page=3
With one game, I've made 59 cents since Monday. This could turn semi-profitable if I make more Flash games or one of them gets onto a big games site.
Edit: Here is a link: http://mochimedia.com/games/baby-bounce
Jathak do you have a link to your game?
how simple is it to embed the highscore tables within the game like many of you guys have done ? how is that achieved?
how can I simulate end-of-game for ads on my game?
Click Button (End Game) = ???
I think you just answered your own question, right there.
Click Button: End the Application
no do not go, no advertising comes from mochi, after click Button ---> End App.
I've had 100,000 hits in less than 2 weeks and earned over $20.00. The system really does work.
Here is the game I Submitted.

See this article for MochiAds with instructions I wrote

Nice one! I quickly learned from Newgrounds that if you make something a bit controversial and/or will appeal to maniacs, you're laughing.
Nice! Hopefully you will soon hit 1 million impressions as the first ever MMF2/flash game to do that. That would be a great milestone.
By the way, in MMF2 can you combine Mochiads with a preloader so that the ads are shown while the actual game loads? And not so that you first load the app and then show the ads -> not good user experience. :D
Also can you upload the html file to Mochiads where the swf is embedded, or just the swf file alone? And if you use their Live update feature, you're able to update the game whenever you like, right?
wow, jasonorme that's awesome!
I can see how if you had a few games going, and doing as well as that you could certainly have a nice little royalties check on the side.
I agree, it could be well worth looking into this. I notice a lot of the 'standard' flash games do it.Quote:

Actually I noticed that if you use the Live Update feature in Mochiads and upload your swf to their servers, they will automatically add an "ad-preloader" to your game, so that it loads while showing the ads. For this, you just need to tick "use Mochiads" in MMF2 but untick "start of game" (if you don't want to show double ads). See it in action here: http://mjkgames.com/climbingclive.html
So you were getting only 0.0002 cent for each play? Not so good.
MJK, please can you upload a example for this ? very interessting.. :-)Quote:

It's very simple, just follow the steps:
- sign up to Mochiads and add new game
- copy+paste the Game ID to MMF2 properties and tick "use Mochiads"
- do not tick "start of game ad"
- build the game
- select the Live Updates feature from Mochiads developer center
- style your preloader colors etc
- upload your game to their servers
That's it. They will automatically insert a preloader with ads to your game, which is obviously much more convenient than a separate preloader followed by ads before the actual game starts.
i am getting quite a few hits now with my Hungry Fish game
http://www.mochigames.com/games/action/hungry-fish/
over 4000 hits each day now! (25000 total so far)
total earnings 5$ :P the ratio should be better ;) but its still promising :)
how many days before Softwarewolf ?
on how many platforms themselves distributed ?
how much $ do you have in the first 24 hours?
I have 1500 hits and 87 cent , 24 hours
1 platform + mochi
MJK, I'm guessing don't need to tick "Include preloader" in mmf too yeah?Quote:

That's right, no need for a preloader because they will insert their own automatically to your swf file once you upload it.Quote:

Yesterday was $3.02.
Total earning this month so far (starting on the 7th march) is $28.85.
Would be interesting to see how your hits and earnings grow or shrink in the long term. Does anyone know more about this, is there some kind of lifespan for flashgames, especially in the Mochi-network?
Yes, obviously there is a lifespan but I'm quite sure it isn't linear if we think of development of impression volumes over time. There can be sudden peaks here and there when content gets featured on visible placements around the partner network. There is so much new content coming out each day and only limited "shelf places" available on the market - of course growing as well but slower than amount of content - however, that the volumes will diminish over time.
I find two learnings from the early experiments with Mochiads: 1) it highlights the fact that MMF2 Flash runtime is a good investment for all developers at 59 €, but at the same time 2) if you want to make money with games, you should really be looking at some other ways, as revenue per impression is so minimal that even success cases with million impressions doesn't really result in any significant revenue.
Yep, we need Mochicoins for upselling locked features :)
Like MJK said, its goes up and down really, within the first 3 days expect alot of traffic, at which point it may start declining. However if its featured on a frontpage a week later, expect alot of traffic for the next couple of days.
With MochiAds adding games for distribution to their partner sites even your old games can re-gain interest from a new partner.
Your never going to earn enough money to live off your revenue, but its a nice bit on the side.
I currently have some sponsors interested in my work, they can pay anything from $100 to $5000 for a game.
