Actually, tis a pity that it is required to download any of the extensions, IMHO.

The Flavien's extention is being offered only with FusionUpdater.
If FusionUpdater is not used, these extension cannot be installed.
Can these be manual download?
I sent mail to him.
You'll have to contact Sphax directly, as these are his extensions, and he's the maintainer of fusion updater. I'm afraid he's got you by the short hairs on this one and you have no other recourse.
An official Clickteam-operated extension repository cannot come fast enough.
I agree, it seems outdated now and it would be better if the extensions were available as a zip/installer etc plus i also used to get virus warnings when using this app and mcafee would delete it always.
No offense to Sphax but in my opinion i think Clickteam should make a official updater app for extensions with database/management options on the websites to make it simple for devs to add them and users to find/update them.
I would like for all extensions be uploaded on the CT Extension Forum, and not have an update application at all. Atom, I still get trojan hits for Fusion Updater and I stopped using it. It is frustrating for me to have to download an updater to download extensions. All free to use extensions should be put in one place, and that is on the CT forums. Look what happened to ASD. Now he is short changed and shouldn't be. All IMHO.

yeah it'd be better to have an official list but have some way of allowing external programs to access the database
that way programs like fusion updater could still exist by just downloading from this site rather than from (i'm assuming) its own server with copies of the extensions which may well be out of date
in terms of downloading extensions, fusion updater should really be a convenience and not a requirement
EDIT: apparently i just reiterated what atom said. welp it's still a good idea
I want them all as zips. While people do like rars, zips can be opened without having to install any new software so new people won't have a hassle or cluttering software.
And I agree on the terms that all the extensions should be accessible by zip, and a list of links and names and all that would be used for updaters.
Is Fusion Updater being updated with the latest extensions?
I haven't seen a new one on there for over a year. Is the project dead? I also like fusion updater as my work computer doesn't allow me to use installers (insufficient security privileges) and i would love for extensions to be added to fusion updater or another repo fetch program that doesn't need to be installed. I tried getting a few extensions for my latest project i am excited for (sadly i cannot take my mmf2 dev copy home form work) but they are only available as installers so i cant install them :/
Fusion Updater should really be removed and Sphax's extensions posted for download. Sphax hasn't been around for a very long time and FusioUpdater should not be used. It will need to be updated or replaced.
I agree with LB. It doesn't work for the English version of MMF, so we will all be dead from old age before a Japanese version is working.

Myself and some others are discussing a replacement for Fusion Updater. :)
That would be great StevenL. Kinda wild, though, to have to use a 3rd party program just to download extensions. Tis a pity that the extensions just can't be placed in the CT Released Extensions sub-forum.
Marv
Well, the problem is that we can't force extension developers to put their extensions in a certain place right now. In the future I hope we would make it so that anyone that releases their extensions (and source) would have to do so in a central depository to avoid issues when users leave the community or drop off the edge of the world. :)
Yeah, that was mentioned earlier, by Jeff, about can't force EB's to upload the extentions to the CT Forums. So the creator of those extensions gone to the nether lands? That is a pity if so.
So would I be court martialed, shot, and sent to the Artic if I upload the extensions to my website?
Marv
It depends on the extensions. If some of them have license restrictions about where they can be posted, then yes. If not, then I don't see why not. :)
Thanks. I'll check into that, since a few EB's have the tendency to poo-poo on a sidewalk.
Marv
If the author has vanished and the licensing is too restrictive, then I think the only long-term solution is to write new extensions to replace them.
Or Publish it for Public for a higher good.
And to be honest, such updater should be built in MMF or as separate Application but available from MMF itself - the same for shaders.
And OK we don't have to force extension developers to place such extensions in that database, but still such application could work somewhat like AppStore. It would gather everything making it available for community and we could add examples for them, if extension developer would like to sell it - offer such option, if it would be exclusive let's say for KD - link to that issue.
Thanks to that everything would be clear and community supported. What's more easy system of scoring and comments with authors commentary could be added (based on those forums?) so each MMF2 user would be able to participate in that - from name and surname for which he is registered. Still somehow connecting our CTF/Gwerdy Chat logins with that one would be nice - for example as LINK which we could personalize in MMF.
Thanks to that it would be easier to maintance and support Community. Also safety and quality would be higher, what's more all users would be aware of existing of those forums - I know that plenty of users are not participating in community because they even doesn't know that it exist or what it offers.
In future promotion splash screen at start of MMF runtime could be added as it is on Steam. We are checking that way updates so why not inform customers about new options and offers? Also it would be much more efficient that current autoupdater which randomly was causing crashes for different fellow Klikers.
Y shouldn't fusion updater be used? The repo for the fetcher is still up?
Aren't sphax's extensions available?
Is there any other extension repo out there? Can't we use tortoiseSVN and fetch from a svn repo?
I use a repo fetcher to grab mods for source's garry's mod. SVN can even be set up as a command line tool, so a gui version can grab selected items in the repo only by using an ini.
There will be a master list of extensions in the future. It has already been planned :)
I agree on the "centralized" repo for extensions and thier source. Otherwise coders drop out of the community and their source is gone so the extension cant be continued. I would love a central repo to fetch applications. No more pesky installers or zips!
I guess we all agree that this is needed for the extensions, and as mentioned here we'll probably see it soon. For sources, however, it is quite unlikely as not all extensions are developed by, or for, Clickteam and they are not necessarily open source.Quote:
