how do i get it to look like that though?
Have you tried the Flame Object?
Marv
There are many ways to make decent looking fire in MMF2. The easiest way would be to use the Flame Object as Marv said. Other ways include making your own animation, or using shaders in HWA.
You might want to do some research into movie special fx and particle systems. Lots of game companies use 3rd party software to generate animated sprites and then apply those sprites to a particle system. There isn't really a simple answer, but you can keep these things in mind:
- Make sure your flame images use additive blending. In MMF, that is under the visibility options in the object's properties.
-Fire changes over time. At the very least, you should try and scale your flames down over time. In a best case scenario, you want the shape and color of your flames to change over time. This would mean animating your flame objects.
-Vary each flame object's speed.
the flame object was what i needed thanks
it's awfully slow and doesn't work in HWA, though
I'd recommend searching through the file archives: there's some great examples
It works in HWA but only with Standard, Directx or Directx + VRAM. It doesn't work with DirectX 8 or 9.Quote:
