I use Mochisocial to test this:
On network error -> Next frame
Although I shut down my internet connection, the event is not triggered. (Mochi Connector is present, too). Shouldn't this detect a general network problem?

I don't know. The "On network error" condition comes directly from Mochi's "network error" event - it's not something I invented.
