Mochi hits China - we too?
Mochi games in China
They recommend a specific font, can we use chinese text (String Object?) if the font supports it?
Even if normal text doesn't work, we could still use graphics to show it. Are there any other things to keep in mind when building a chinese version?
Re: Mochi hits China - we too?
I didn't tested this myself, but I believe that the MMF Unicode add-on might help. Yves knows better.

Interesting... well, Mochi Media is owned by a Chinese company, so no wonder they aim to expand there. Of course online advertising in China is still in its infancy... with same amount of ad impressions, you will basically get 10 times more revenue from US and UK sites.
Re: Mochi hits China - we too?
You could perhaps use the Char Image object if you have Dev.
Re: Mochi hits China - we too?
String Object supports Chinese text in Unicode version of TGF2 and I assume in MMF2 too.
Things to keep in mind:
Text length changes (important if for example parts of interface were designed to fit a specific length of usually English text etc), in most cases the Mandarin version is slightly shorter but in some cases it ends up longer.
Spaces are treated differently (this can be important if for example you rely on detecting "space" to separate lines of text in a say dialogue box).
Importing texts from non-Unicode .mfa that has characters like Ellipsis (the precomposed one that you get through Alt+NumPad) into a TGF2-Unicode version is done CT-style (for example the Ellipsis gets converted to a question mark). I doubt anyone here uses it but just mentioning it.
Re: Mochi hits China - we too?
I got an email asking for Minedigger to be localized for China, and I don't have dev or Unicode, so I just plan on using actives to show images. Not really efficient, but I don't have many choices.
