Can you incorporate "click-away" ads into MMF2 flash games? Mochimedia shows an example HERE
I don't think this is possible yet, it's part of the new Mochi update, isn't it?
Hopefully someone can make this an extensions ;) I personally think these types of ads look a lot more professional, and I like them better.
Yeah there seems to be quite a few cool features not yet clickteam friendly. Hopefully they're added soon... Especially this one because I feel like it could make a big revenue difference.
For the moment, you can simulate the click away add by adding an empty frame with adverts, that just quits, and go there when you quit the application...
I think clean_citrus means ads which can be placed within the main menu screen as shown in Mochis example. Pretty cool, since these are always in the player's view.
The example posted by JoKa is really cool and much less annoying than the normal kind of ads.
Just stumbled upon this older thread, are there plans to support this kind of ads in one of the next updates?
Not for the moment. Just put an ad at the end of the last frame of your application!
I use a timer and the end of frame option to trigger intermediate ads in regular intervalls, but I'm afraid this will harm distribution due to low acceptance on portals. Players dislike them, too, since they completely interrupt gameplay.
I'm sorry, I'm a bit confused but aren't we discussing two different things here: inter-level ad is one type of ad presentation that MochiMedia offers for developers, and which can be simulated through this "dummy frame/show ad at end of frame" method in MMF2. Click-away ads, on the other hand, are Mochi ads embedded into game menus or game screens and can be customized to fit the game presentation. MMF2 does not offer any methods or workarounds of using click-away ads, right?
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. If you want an ad that is displayed when you quit your application, do as I say, set an ad at the end of the frame where you quit the application! If the user closes the browser, there is no way to halt the closing process when the ad is displayed.
Francois, have you checked this example posted earlier: http://www.mochimedia.com/games/days2die/ (the Ad Space on the right side of the frame, embedded in game menu, customized to fit game presentation)
MJK, that is an awesome example. I hate in between level ads because they interrupt game play. This is good.
What needs to be done to get this implemented? By the looks of the one line of code requirement at mochi - it doesn't appear to be a large project.
Any plans for adding click away ad support for MMF2 flash exporter?
Seems it's being ignored.
The few developers who could do this are busy with other projects and/or new runtimes. It probably won't happen anytime soon.
Ok, thanks for the info.
If you don't mind using CPMStar, just look at this solution featuring ads in the main menu (or wherever you want them).
In case anyone is interested and hasn't yet noticed this in the beta extensions forum: Pharanygitis' Advanced Mochi extension includes click-away ads capability. :)
