Is it possible to make an online game in the swf format with the swf extension?

what do you mean by an online game? You can export your games to SWF flash files and upload them to be played online in your web browser.. or do you mean online multiplayer games?

If you want to make a Flash online multiplayer game you'll need to use the Lacewing extension as well.
