Here my new shader for MMF2 (HWA).
You can make 3D-Glasses-Games with the Anaglyph-Shader. Its very easy.. see the example for more informations.. :D

Nice, but it would be cooler with pixels for the offset parameter.

put float fPixelWidth; at the top of your code, then multiply the offset with fPixelWidth when getting the pixel color. That should be it.

Nice effect, i need to buy some 3d glasses sometime i think. Making a 3d glasses game or having it as a option could be quite fun.

I put my 3D glasses on and it made little difference o_O perhaps being short sighted doesn't help.

Edit: Atom how can you comment on the effect if you still need to buy some glasses? :crazy:

I just said nice effect because it looks like it would work from the preview image, i didn't really comment on the results though just that i thought it is a fun idea but i don't currently have 3d glasses to use it. I don't see anything wrong with commenting though, color offset can also be used as a regular effect even if you don't want to make a game for 3d glasses.

Nice effect! However, I was not seen the like 3d with glasses made by myself.

I suggests it be able to change the red and blue coefficient.

I am visually impaired and have double vision, so seeing in 3D is impossible for me :(

The problem with this one is that it only offsets left and right, whereas it should also rotate the offset. Draw a red square and a blue square side by side. Then cross your eyes so you see double and have the red square overlap the blue. It won't line up, because your eyes are at different angles.

See how in that picture, the line down the center doesn't line up? This is due to the positioning of your eyes. Without that offset, anaglyphic 3D will never look real.

That's only because that line goes off into the distance. Look at something vertical, like the street lamps. They are fine.

hrmm but wouldn't that mean that depth implies a rotation factor? Its pretty useless an effect without depth :0

The spacing between the red and blue images gives the depth. If the object is flat and vertical, the spacing will be the same over the whole object, but you can still have different objects at different depths by adjusting the spacing on each object.

This idea is great but doesn't seem work well. I have a red/blue glasses.
Instead of a red/blue image offset, i look a gray/gray offset... without 3d effect.

Yeah. pretty useless as you can't judge depth in a single 2d image. This would work better with paralax layers in a scrolly 'cause you can setup different shader values for each layer of depth.

Maybe it could be modified to provide a Z-map as an input image?

Good idea! I have no idea how to do that but as long as it solves the issue and someone can easily code that into the shader.

I guess the effect demonstrated with the beatles picture was to demonstrate the way how the individual eyes rotate to focus on specific object.

When you think of two individual eye balls, they are not just spaced from each other, but also angled differently to focus in specific object. Try for example to focus on your finger while moving it close and then far again. :)

This is the effect used in newest 3d movies to direct the viewers focus to specific events and objects.

i just discovered this shader, I tried it with my 3d glasses but it doesn't work very good, there some update about it? It seems a very interesting idea, I think it's a pity that it is not implemented.
