The Infinite Ocean (a success story)
I've been an indie game designer for 10 years now. Finally wanting to actually be able to live off of games, I turned to MMF2 Developer and the SWF exporter. (This was a much more feasible option to me than learning Flash. I'm a designer, not a programmer.)
As a first project, to get used to the new environment, I remade my second game, a sci-fi point & click game called The Infinite Ocean. I was always really proud of that game, but between bugs and the lack of an indie scene when it first came out (in 2003), it had never found much of an audience.
Seven years later, and with the help of MMF, not only did I get a sponsorship for a fairly large amount of money, the game also finally got some attention! It got positive reviews from JayisGames , from Rock, Paper, Shotgun, from Gnome's Lair, and got included in Casual Girl Gamer's list of 20 games that make you think about life.
It's available to play at ArmorGames, Kongregate and Newgrounds.
I'm not posting this to brag, but to say thank you, and to share this small success story with everyone. Multimedia Fusion and its Flash exporter have given my life as a game developer a very positive boost. I'm already hard at work at my next game, this time not a remake, and eagerly awaiting the next update. As soon as API integration and some easy way of adding intro videos for the portals are available, this will be the perfect tool. Until then, it's "just" an absolutely excellent one.

Wonderful. Love hearing this. I read Rock Paper Shotgun every day, so seeing that Quinns wrote a 'play this now' post and he was recommended it by the creator of VVVVV? Well, that's pretty cool. Congratulations, keep us updated with your achievements.
Re: The Infinite Ocean (a success story)
Wow this looks amazing! I played it a little, but will try more when i have more time.
Congrats on your success!
Re: The Infinite Ocean (a success story)

Fantastic, it's wonderful to know that MMF can bring ideas to life like this - thanks for sharing your story :) The game looks like a very atmospheric Myst-like - I'll have to play it later.
Re: The Infinite Ocean (a success story)
Great, congrats!
We need more success stories like this. :)

What MJK said :-)
That's very uplifting, Jonas. Thanks for sharing!
Re: The Infinite Ocean (a success story)
Great to hear another success story :D I did play your game even before I read it here. What I didn't realise is it was done with MMF :D
Used to dread having to have distributors/publishers for a compiled game but with the flash exporter it opens up a very big opportunity.
-Easy distribution
-Large audience thanks to flash portals all around
Thank you for sharing.
Re: The Infinite Ocean (a success story)
I clicked around a bit. Had no idea what was going on though.
Re: The Infinite Ocean (a success story)
Thanks, everyone! :)
Let's hope many more MMF games will appear in the coming months.
Re: The Infinite Ocean (a success story)
This was very nice. I love point-and-click games, and even though I could've wanted something that added to the eeriness, the story was very catching! Good work :)
