I've never tried making one before, but you probably can just use a lot of fire particles to do the effect. I'll make a basic example, hold on.

The coding is in the MFA...what are you talking about?
For example how do you make it so the flames disapear after a certain distance?
It is part of the Disappearing animation.

What do you mean? There is spread in the fire, that was part of my example. You can copy from the first frame if you don't want that. Or do you mean the stray fireball which goes to the side when you let go? To fix that, double-click your flamethrowing event (the one with the mouse condition in it) to open the Action Editor. Then move the "Create Object" action to the top of the list.
