Open Pandora
I just realised something. Multimedia Fusion 2 is coming to the iPhone and Android. The Open Pandora is a gaming handheld which also uses the ARM CPU architecture like the iPhone/Android. I'm sure there are so many developers who would help with bringing MMF2 to the Pandora, and the device has quite a following.
Obviously, it's far from the popularity of the iPhone/Android devices, but it has a big homebrew scene and I'm sure MMF2 would be extremely welcome. I could ask the main development team behind the Pandora about Multimedia Fusion 2, and perhaps if they are interested (I'm pretty sure they will be), they'd possibly be willing to send you (Francois/Yves) a unit. Else I would be able to test it the exporting for you.
This is just a suggestion, but it would be extremely awesome if MMF2 could export to Pandora. :) If you would like more information about the device, check out these links.

Re: Open Pandora
If I'm not mistaken, Open Pandora runs on Linux as do the nice, cheaper and more readily availible devices like the GP2X Canoo.

Perhaps it would be even more worth Clickteams while to just create a Linux runtime that would then probibly run on all of these devices.
I'm currently working on several comercial game projects with MMF and would love the oportunity to hit these untapped niche markets. There's SO LITTLE compitition for good games on those Linux handhelds as compared to Iphone and Android.

Re: Open Pandora
That is true, but do remember that most Linux users are using an x86 processor. A generic Linux runtime would be for x86. However, a runtime for these platforms would be for ARM. I agree though. Multimedia Fusion 2 would bring so much to the table and I'm sure a lot of aspiring game developers who use the GP2X/Wiz/Pandora devices but lack the programming knowledge or want to prototype their creations would be willing to buy MMF2.
I do hope that the development team consider this at least. I'm sure it's a lot more difficult than I make it out to be as I'm not a programmer, but I do know that Android is essentially a Linux OS and for ARM processors, so I would think this makes it more possible.

Re: Open Pandora
I'd definately buy a canoo to test if Clickteam's interrested in making the export plug-in. Heck, I'd buy Clickteam a Canoo too!

Re: Open Pandora
I want one, but they're pretty expensive and limited on numbers. I'd rather develop for iPhone, Android
-
Re: Open Pandora
Nothing would stop you from developing for both. The canoo is not expensive and readily availible.
The potential benifit for someone selling a well made original game for canoo is there is almost ZERO competition for that platform. Quite the opposite for IPhone.

Re: Open Pandora
The Open Pandora and the Canoo both use similar technology I believe. But all devices mentioned in this thread use ARM processors. Indeed, the lack of competition is a very important factor. The Pandora was made by a group of gaming enthusiasts who followed a dream, not the profit from it. Doesn't that sound a bit like nearly 100% of freeware Click game creators?
I think it would be nice to support the Pandora. (And the Canoo.) The Click community and the Pandora (and its homebrew community) have something in common, unlike the monopolising ways of Apple and the App Store.

Re: Open Pandora
Didn't even think about the little competition for that.
MMF2 can export to that using Anaconda?

Re: Open Pandora
Python? Hmm, can't say I looked into this so much.

Re: Open Pandora
Anaconda only runs on x86 linux - it depends on compiled C modules. I'm not sure how much work it would be for Mathias to support the Pandora's processor.

Re: Open Pandora
Oh, I see. That's a shame.

Re: Open Pandora
I would be happy, too, if there is a way that MMF2 supports the Java runtime for consoles like CAANOO, Wiz etc.

Re: Open Pandora
Wow that does look pretty awesome... but 500 USD. Ow. Sony's NGP handheld is reportedly going to retail for $250 without 3G. $350 if you want 3G. I realize these guys don't have the resources of Sony, but that's an awful lot of money. Even if you can do other things with it, the main attraction is the homebrew. You could get a netbook for cheaper if you wanted the computer capabilities.
One thing I always wondered, you can hack the PSP to run emulators, so I wondered if it would be possible to get MMF2 made stuff running on that. Of course, that can't really be discussed here and could never be endorsed by Clickteam period.
