Help with side-scrolling platformer - Shooting
Hello, all. I've got a dilemma.
I have begun work on a game. It is a mega man fan-game. I'm at a bit of a crossroads.
Once the level begins, I have Mega Man as an active object. All of his animations run smoothly, though I can't make him jump yet.
But I digress. I have it set to:
[When "X" is pressed] [Mega Man] [Shoot [Mega Buster Shot] in direction -> at speed 30 ]
It should work, yes? Well,it changes animations like I want, but it doesn't shoot anything.
Help, please?
If you could also point me to a tutorial on gravity and platforms, that would be appreciated as well.
Re: Help with side-scrolling platformer - Shooting
you need to post your MMA so we can see what you're doing wrong. There's too many possible reasons its not working.
Do you have an event that destroys the bullett? Where is the action point in the mega man animations (where the bullet would come from)
theres too many possibilities...
Re: Help with side-scrolling platformer - Shooting
it will shoot from the 'action point' check your frames to see where the action point is on them...
Re: Help with side-scrolling platformer - Shooting
MMA? I'm not sure what that is.
As for the action point thing, it didn't change anything.
Re: Help with side-scrolling platformer - Shooting
The MMA is your file your saving your MMF2 project as.
Re: Help with side-scrolling platformer - Shooting
Isn't it MFA? Maybe I'm confused but I thought MMF2 saves application files as MFA and project files as MFW.
Re: Help with side-scrolling platformer - Shooting
LOL. sorry, that was a typo on my part. I meant MFA
Re: Help with side-scrolling platformer - Shooting
Yeah, my bad. I was trying to be sarcastic about the typo but trying to be helpful at the same time, my bad lol.
No offense Holy Monkey, was just being silly.

Re: Help with side-scrolling platformer - Shooting
Umm, how do I post it? Again, I probably sound silly, but I don't see an "attach file" option...
Re: Help with side-scrolling platformer - Shooting
The best way is to use the MFA Repository (link on the right). The File Archives forum also works for smaller files.
