Even using the Joystick iOS object and setting it to "Stop accelerometer joystick" doesn't work. It's like it's ignoring the event completely...or am I going about this the wrong way entirely?

Corrected.
I have tested: the stop accelerometer action of the Joystick Control objects works fine. Didn't you forget to set the device of the joystick in the frame properties to "Controlled by an extension"?

I have it set to accelerometer controlled, but I was just testing to see if the joystick object could help my ignore control problem :)
