I've been dreaming about making an online (meaning multiplayer) shooting game, I know its possible but I can't figure out how. And, also. I use the default sprites, some having guns. when I set it to shoot. It shoots out of my feet... or something like that, I'd like to make it shoot out of the barrel of the gun. And can you recommend something that would put my game online? Thanks.
Move the action point of your character -- thats where it will launch an object from when you use the "launch an object" action.
Wow. thanks. But I forgot to put in that I found a gunsight, and made it so that when I hold down/click it shoots. The gunsight is mouse controlled.
making a game multiplayer can be a bit hard and it seems you are still learning some of the basics when i look at your post, so i would suggest to wait a bit and focus on some easier games, but if you are the object is called lacewing and got some resources and info online.
What is Lacewings site? Or is it part of MMF2?

On a game I mean. And will players be using MY IP address to connect, or someone else's?
download the build, then go into the directory where MMF is installed, you should see folders labeled Data, Extensions, Examples, etc.
Now when you extract the lacewing folder, go into the MMF2 directory, and youll find a Data and Extensions folder. Copy the contents of these folders into the corresponding folder where MMF2 is installed.
I haven't used Lacewing, but the way online works is one person hosts and the other people connect to them. Whoever hosts will be using their IP for everyone to connect to. So this means you're going to have to code a server and client connection. The host runs the server, and the other people connect with the client.Quote:

OP, you don't sound experienced enough to make an online game yet.
You really should learn the basics of MMF first before you attempt this.
Theres no harm in trying it though, but you will just end up getting frusrated and giving up. We all try to go big at some point, but it's knowing whens the time to begin such a project thats important.
