[Beta] TileBox

I just finished another extension!

This one is called "TileBox"

Basically what it does is similar to the Dungeon object in the way it lets you know what kind of wall goes where. It simplifies the process of making fancy boxes (with nine tiles for each box)

It lets you choose specific edges of a box. If you still have no idea what I'm talking about, download it and look at the example!

Thanks for the extension, it seems good but i think i have found a bug. In the example i simply change the set box width to a value of 10 instead of 5 and then the lower right tile does not show.

If i set the height to 10 also then it works, as does changing the last animation frame to 9 but normally a different width would work fine with 9 slice boxes and also since you have the frames adding 1 each it seems like that might be a bug.

It does the same thing but it uses a active objects frames to load the images, so you basically use it in combination with other objects. The advantage of that is you can change the images at runtime with events which the other object can't do.

Also for setting the width etc it seems tile based so it is a bit different to the other object even though they both aim to do the same thing.

Not sure why it doesn't work for you, i tested in the latest MMF2 dev on XP and it loaded the example ok.

Loads ok here. Win7 64 Developer latest build.

Probably some Visual Studio dependency that you guys have installed! I just checked again, I copied all the files correctly.

I actually asked myself the same question - is it too similar to 9 slice? But I realized that even if it is, the only reason I'm really making this is for Flash. I don't have the code to 9 slice so I had to remake it. Started with the C++ and as soon as that's done I'll move on to Flash.

Anyways, I have no idea what could be the problem! I haven't done anything that would make the extension dependent... perhaps it's the thread thing again... It IS supposed to be /MT?

Ricky, how can this work for some people and not for one person. If it works for more than one person, what is that telling you and Looki? It might help if there is more input before you even think about making changes. Worse case, it works for some OS's and not others.

Actually Atom did find a bug, I accidentally compared both x and y to width on the bottom right, rather than y to height. That might explain why it works for squares! ;)

Yeah, I see what you mean. Is this bug going to be corrected soon? No worries, just asking.

@nivram - Try the new version from post #229168 as that seems to fix the resizing problem i found.

I have a dell with windows xp 32bit running MMF2 dev and both versions of the extension have worked well other than that resizing bug i found which now seems to be fixed.

I've ported this extension to EDIF and sent it to RickyRombo. He'll be able to fix any bugs at this time before releasing the new version with Unicode compatibility :)
