Obstacle & Platform problems
I'm making a platformer right now and I'm just using the built-in platform movement. Whenever the character runs into an obstacle, he stops but his animation keeps playing (the animation is laggy and skips frames when that happens). Also, he can walk up large diagonal spaces between obstacles as if they were stairs.
If the character overlaps a platform, his animation becomes laggy and he seems to slow down. Also, if he jumps and turns around he can get "caught" IN the platform while he's falling.
Does anyone know what causes this or how I can fix it? I'm just using
(Active) collides with the background >Stop Movement (Active)
-Only one action when event loops
The second condition is for other events that happen at the same time, but even when I tried it without the second condition it behaved the same.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Re: Obstacle & Platform problems
If you can post up your MFA file I am sure someone can give you some advice. It could be many things you can do differently or better depending on how your game is currently.
Re: Obstacle & Platform problems
Active Collides With Background does not require only one action when event loops, as it is immediate.

Yeah, I know. How do I upload an mfa?
Re: Obstacle & Platform problems
Go to the File Archive sub-forum >new topic> and use the file manager. Must be under 1mb.

Re: Obstacle & Platform problems
Has anyone figured out why this problem is occuring yet?
Re: Obstacle & Platform problems
B5E, you are 2 builds behind. Could you update to B251? A lot of things have been fixed by 251 and it may help.
Thanks

Re: Obstacle & Platform problems
I just updated and it still doesn't seem to be working.
Also, I was playing a game on GameBuilder, and it has similar problems with platforms (brick walls on Stage 2) but I'm not even sure it was developed with TGF2... http://www.gamebuilder.info/world/arcade/gi-jane
