You need to have a Mac to develop iOS games

You have a certain number of installations possible (cant remember how many). This is usually enough for everybody

We need sopme of the functions of the API that are only present after 4.2

There is NOT a limit to the number of installations.
If you get the message that you need more installs all it takes is an email into Clickteam and it gets reset/updated.
We are working towards some automation on this system in the future to make it even faster. Right now you might get a little delay while a person manually updates the records.
I use MMF Developer in a virtual machine (parallels) and works perfectly. You can also use the other way, making a multi boot with a Mac OS partition in a PC, but this is sometimes problematic because of the drivers and constant updates of apple software.
Apple also offers a free sofrware called bootcamp for easy windows installation, but with a virtual machine you do not need to reboot.

Using Mac OS X (all versions) on a VM or on a PC is illegal !
Mac OS X is strictly reserved to Apple-made hardware.
Yeah! It's cool because you didn't need activation with Mac OSX but they look if you have a Mac or if you're on a VM/PC. Be aware of that !
