Ideas for creating spreadsheet with graphics

I need help with ideas from others. In the past I wanted to create a program with a spreadsheet. I have used the data grid and it provides a lot of benefits but it does not have the ability to have columns with graphics or buttons like radio buttons or checkboxes.

I like the data grid because you can resize columns, scroll vert. and hort., add and delete rows and columns...etc.

You know how in a webpage you can create tables with text, pictures, buttons. I am looking for ways to do something similar but with good speed.
