Yes I am back. :) I am soon on it.
I have a long todo list and posts to follow up on now that I'm back.
Ok, that's great news... I just wasn't sure if this was intended to be a feature we can use in IOS. I hope it is!
Hi Tuna - I accidently set this for a string and it definetly changed the colour (was wanting it to change the alpha transparency, but used the wrong setting) So, my advice is to try it with a string and see if that works!
:D Well, I need actives to change color... even if it works, it doesn't resolve my issue... I rarely even use the string object, but thanks!
Tuna - just got round to checking this for myself and works fine both in MMF2 and on my old iPod touch 2nd Gen.
In MMF2 make sure using Direct 3D (both 8 & 9 work on my WinXP PC).
For your image try the default active object image (turquoise diamond) rather than a custom image.
Then use GetRGB(255,0,0) to tint it red.
If still having problems, try rebooting your PC
Kevin,
I appreciate that you're trying to help. I know how it works as i have made several HWA games that use GetRGB() for color changes, and after multiple attempts it doesn't work on my IOS device or on the simulators (yes, it works in the MMF runtime).
Andos has this on his list of things to look into, and I'm confident the end result will be success!
Thanks!
Tuna & Andos - did some more testing and whilst it DOES work on my old iPod touch 2nd Gen (iOS 4.2.1) it does NOT work on my iPad2 (iOS 4.3.2) and iPod touch 4th Gen (iOS 4.3.3)
Hopefully this will help Andos get to the bottom of this sooner ;-)
That's an interesting and useful test... I'm sure Andos will agree.
Tuna and AyreGuitar are you using the latest iOS beta or the first release version?
I have tried on my iPod 3rd gen, iPad and different simulators now (also forcing both the old ES1 renderer for old devices and ES2 for new devices) - and they all worked (newest beta).
I used this app for testing:
