It didn't get featured, but I announced it on Touch Arcade forums and promoted it with Crazy Mike's Apps, and gave out some promo codes to people who wanted to review it, and it just sort of spread. As long as your app is well designed, good quality and with good graphic design, people will want it :)
Happy to hear about your success! Did Crazy Mike's Apps charge you for the review? If so, I'm curious how much that cost, I'm finalizing my second game for IOS and this time I want to see some actual sales numbers I can be happy about. I feel that I really screwed up with Jazz21, as I feel like it deserved to sell quite a bit better than it did.
DistantJ you must be over 1000 sales now right, daily sales still rather strong or dropping off a fair bit?
Haven't had the update for today's sales yet so I don't know, but if you want to see the trends, it went 102, 380, 213, 178, so day 2 was the peak, but it's not dropped down drastically yet. Interestingly it shot up the iPad charts yesterday so I'm interested to see yesterday's sales.
Yeah, I paid Crazy Mike's Apps. It's not that CMA gets a huge response but it attracts the attention of other reviewers.
How much does that cost then? Kinda sad when it becomes necessary to pay a reviewer to review your game =(
Well, Crazy Mike doesn't review, he promotes. The video itself is never a review but rather a demo of the game, and then he tweets about it etc.
The rest of the reviews I got all just sort of popped up.
1029 copies now. £936 or $1,476
that's so cool... congrats!
