Start/Stop Touch Joystick

I must be doing this wrong because I cannot get this event to work at all.
What I currently have is a Pause Flag. When I tap the pause button, I want to turn off the touch joystick and buttons, or at least get them off the screen somehow.

So using the joystick control object, what I assume to hide it would be selecting Touch Joystick > Start/Stop Touch Joystick and setting everything to 0.
When I test this out, unfortunately it does not work.

Trying a workaround to select a position or a X or Y coordinate, I've had no luck with that either.


Any help would be great! I'm using the latest beta of the iOS exporter (didn't work on the release version either). Thank you very much,

Same here, it isn't stopping when requested.

I've not had this problem.. my custom pause makes the controls invisible/visible perhaps check your frame properties and make sure it's 'controlled by extension'

Okay, it partly worked, but why is Fire Button 2 appearing in the middle of the screen? Does anyone know what the default position for it is? I believe the X is off, Y is fine.

positon bug, setting a position will do it as well as making it invisible, you need to move the buttons by seperate x pos and y pos events to avoid the problem.

When you set the coordinates it's from the current screen visible edge, so setting buttons on a retina device would be like x stick 64 stick y 380 (it's not the correct position but trial and error until you get it where you want it)

Hey, thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I can move fire button 1 and the joystick around, but this one won't budge at all.

I found that positioning on start of frame didn't work but if I have an 'always' set button 2 x/y pos it will work fine.

Can you send me the mfa which has the "position bug"?

I was doing it start of frame.

I switched it to always and that seemed to do the trick! Is this event going to effect performance at all though?

Francois.. this same exact bug will happen for me even if I start a blank, brand new .MFA with no other objects but the joystick buttons.. this bug happens by default.. I have to actively work around it to have the buttons positioned in the correct place.. it's not a hard fix.. but it's strange it doesn't happen for you?
