Music For My Game
As some of you may already have seen, I'm working on a sidescroller/platform/shooter game.
here are some screenshots of my game:

3 level download beta (about 1.2MB) http://www.mediafire.com/?8519w7g37nh8ls2
(fyi: lives are infinite as this is just a testing beta, there are still many things that need to be changed/added)
Question is: I want some free looped music (midi/mp3 or whatever) that I can use as background music. Credit will of course be given in the game to the creator and finder of any piece(s) I use. I am a producer/DJ myself, but I don't really have much experience in midi/computer game music. sssssssssanks. Also, jumping, shooting, dying sound effects would be awesome - think robotic!

Free Sound is one of my favorite sites. :)

If you are a producer/DJ yourself, you could just put up one of your programs and just toy around with simple midi instruments. FL studio is nice for this. For a game like yours, the simplest is often the best, so an arpeggio or something in the background might be enough to keep the mechanic atmosphere of the game, and at the same time not be too annoying and in the front :P If you don't know what I mean, go to youtube and search for synth arpeggio :)
If you are looking for free sites to download music, you could try mod archive: http://modarchive.org/index.php
Last time I checked, there was thousands of songs in the "computer music" genre to download for free :)

Modarchive's songs are downloadable for free, but people appreciate it if you ask first before using them in any projects!
- Someone who has music at Modarchive ;)
If you're after robotic sound effects, Sfxr/Bfxr might be able to provide some - http://www.bfxr.net/

thanks, yeah, I've played around with FL Studio to create some 'Uplifting Sound Sweeps' but I think for this project I'll use some of Matt's great tracks, (edited for use in my game) so I can focus more time on making the game as fun as possible.

I'm a sound engineer and I'm always tweaking tracks and sounds. The best thing to do is ask first before you download any sound/music for your use, unless it says royalty free. Yes, it may never happen where you are caught,.but there's always that chance. If anyone ever needs sound or music tweaked, let me know. I'm very good at it.

Yeah, I'm ensuring that all sound and music I use is from a royalty free site.
