I have a card deck as one active object with Alt val spread through.
I want to press a button and have one card with a specific alt value move only. At the moment all cards move.
not sure how to phrase the event
If clicks on button then move card Alt value=48 to x,y

Replicated it and works fine here, if you used copy and paste in your code sometimes things get a bit messed up so I suggest you delete the condition and the event and insert it again. Should work.
Thanks oruga Can you enlighten me with your working code? i don't know how the event should reading the first place.
To be clear say i have 10 cards in the frame all as a duplicated object with an alt value spread through 1-10.
How do i press a button and just have say card with alt val=8 move. and the others stay put. I want to refer to it by its alt value.
I think I know what the problem is.
When you spread a value into an Alt Value, say Alt Value A= Fixed("active"), the number isn't a single digit, or easily predictable, neither is it ordered like 1 for the first object, 2 for the second, etc. It is a weird long number something like 65536, 131076, 196610, etc. So you gotta find what the spread values are first.
I don't know how you are coding your game and if this is useful, but sometimes I use the x or y position of an object to differentiate it from the other duplicates instead of the spread value. At the start of the frame you can set one alt value to the starting x position of each object. In the frame editor you can easily tell what that number is. Like I said, may not work for certain games.
So find out the spread values first and then just use the code you were using.
+Alt.Val A("Active")= 33123 +button is clicked -> change Active position to 120,40 or whatever.

I figured out a simple work around. I make a global value = alt val. of my card I want to move
When I click on a button Activate a group
Then I can call up If Alt Val = Global Value move to X,Y
Seems to work OK - thanks for your help
