In need of GC object Example

I'm sorry to bring this old thing up again but It'S about time for me to start slamming my head against the wall.

Can someone make a simple Gamecenter leaderboard example.
Every game I release with the GC object is messed up. It does send my score (ONCE) after that it doesn't do anything anymore. It's like it send your very first score and that's it.
I have a simple authenticate object in all the frames and a line when player is destroyed send player 1 score to server.
when score is sent a sound is played.

then a frame where the default leaderboard will pop up.

and I used the Leaderbord Id in the GC object property.
I activated the the leaderboard in itunes correct.

used multiple Gc accounts to submid score but all the same. it just sends one score than it's bye bye no scores accepted.

I can't believe I did anything wrong knowing I read all the other posts about this subject.

does anyone have an awnser or example.

I'm all out of ideas and busy tearing out every last hear :/

Probably too obvious, but I've been there myself ;-) Is your new score higher than the first score? If not, then it won't show up unless on a different day.

My second score is higher but it doesn't change. when I play games like awesome land or pocket ninja's the scores always change right after submitting. why doesn't it do it with my game. I followed all the steps.

This is what I also get. I guess it is the default behavior in Sand Box mode.
People have been using the Leaderboard object succesfully so far.

So does this mean it should work once the app is online in the app store and that it is just a behavior when you test the game.

same here. its: STRANGE STRANGE STRANGE! I dont use the gamecenter extension at the moment for...well same reasons as you :) (I wanna keep my head the way it is for a little longer)

Yeah terrible, have been spending weeks for it to work no succes. strange how it works for some of the games made by mmf developers

Yeah, in sandbox it often takes time for scores to appear. I wouldn't worry about it, submit your game! As long as the leaderboard ID is correct it'll work.

i agree with the others, i think it will work fine in release version , just not in sandbox

I will wait for the release then. fingers crossed

But only for iPhone. on ipad the leaderboard still apears in portrait mode :)

yeah, good point

i was talking about his submitting score problem, orientation problem is a real annoyance.

From what we know, the orientation problem does not occur when the game is released.

@Francois: From what i know, the orientation problem does just not occur on iPhone. on iPad the problem is stil there. Distantj has released a Game on iPad and has reported this, if i'm not mistaken.

Only on iPad but yes it occurs. Not sure why you can't release your game, though.

i don't want release the game with the wrong leaderboard orientation. i want that all is perfect :)

I'm at my wits end with the Leaderboard as well - an example/guide would be appreciated.


In my current setup, I have the connect object on both the title frame, and the leaderboard frame. When the game boots, I see the welcome message for my sandbox account on the title frame. I then navigate straight to the leaderboard frame.

Heres the events for the leaderboard frame:

[GameCenter connect] Local player has authenticated
+ Only one action when event loops
------------------------------
[GC leaderboard] -> Set ID to "1" - same as in itunes
[GC leaderboard] -> Send score 800 to server



[GC Leaderboard] Score has been sent successfully
------------------------------
[GC leaderboard] -> Display default leaderboard


When I test the app, the default leaderboard comes up, so this suggests to me that the score is being submitted to the server successfully. Nonetheless, I dont see it. Ive tried with 2 sandbox accounts so far.

Ugh, in answering my own question .....

Seems that high score posts in a sandbox will show up in the leaderboard 6 hours after they are submitted...... Weird

Ok, apoligies for what (I hope) is a simple question, Is there a process to setting up a sandbox act or is this handled auotmagicly just by testing our apps?

I have not yet tested score saving, I JUST set up my first leaderboard through ITC...

You cannot create a sandbox account via the Game Center app. To setup a sandbox account, just launch your app which must be provisioned for development. Prior to that you may logout from your live account. More detailed info about his can be found in Apple's Game Kit Programming Guide, check the last paragraph called "Testing a Game Center Application".

I make my own leaderboard and achievement panel now :)

I plan to display custom leaderboard and achievement panels too. Many of you seem to be doing this, so I assume that the actions/conditions/expressions of the Game Center Achievement(s) objects are all working alright! Yay!
