Shooting while strafing backwards.
Currently, I'm making a 2D side-scrolling platformer using the built-in platformer engine and I was just wondering what the easiest way to shoot while strafing/walking backwards would be. (Currently, to avoid directional glitches like shooting in the wrong direction) I make sure the sprite is facing the way it's shooting, so I'm wondering what the most straightforward way of accomplishing this could be... any help would really be appreciated! Thanks!
Special request for strafing/movement update.
OK, So I've uploaded my .mfa in it's entirity. (why? because it was about 60MB with just the one level and no music and I don't know why)
Anyway, basically, I want someone to take a look who has experience with the player movement object, so I can still shoot and jump. I don't mind if a completely different engine can be implemented, as long as it can be easily tweaked and it keeps the integrity of the game). No new animation frames should be necessary, and it won't be hard to split the top from the bottom like Chris B's example.. (also, if you look at the "tutorial level" some of the text isn't showing, and when i get it too, it lags up the run time for some reason, so any help with this would be fantastic!) This is a project of passion, so anyone who can help will get a special thanks in the credits.
