Would an empty list sap resources?

I've been working on something that involves a few lists. The easiest way to implement a new feature is to just create a new list. I could use one of the existing lists but that would require some tweaking I'd rather avoid. Do these lists sap a lot of resources?

If by list you mean list objects, it would use up some resources, but not much more than if they list was filled.
If by list you mean just a string list, no.

In windows yes, but not enough to worry about. I know in Android that lists were being rendered even when invisible - I don't know whether this is still the case, but the overhead of that would be more problematic on a mobile device for sure.

I meant List Object. Thanks for the input! I'm taking the easy way out and just using a few lists.
