ratty - Further to your PM, I'm not sure why punctuation next to the < or > in my example should be removed. However I have noticed it ignores text after the last <tag> eg:
This is *blank 1*. That is *blank 2*.
becomes:
This is myWord1. That is myWord2
So maybe this is the problem you've observed?
Here's a corrected version that also uses * instead, ie *tag*
If this doesn't solve it, perhaps you can give me an example string with punctuation it removes? eg This is *blank 1*. That is *blank 2*.
