If you are referencing frames, there is no limit and I have never heard of anyone reaching a limit either.

There may not be a physical limit, but in practice, the more levels you have, the less viable it is to design each level in a separate frame.
You'll eventually find it's just much, much easier to develop your whole engine in one frame, and then load the level layouts from external files. You will need to make your own custom editor, but a well-made level editor will be more user-friendly than MMF2's frame editor, and the time/hassle you save on each level as a result will start to add up (plus you can avoid all the problems that people commonly have with global objects / events etc).
Well, actually, there is a kind of a limit in MMF2 itself. If I remember correctly, if an MFA file gets too big (I think it was 2 GB?), then it has dangerously high odds of getting corrupted. As a result, you should store your levels externally when possible, and perhaps do the same thing with graphics (especially the big ones) and sounds (especially the big ones).
I don't think 2 GB is even enough install newer versions of Windows and actually do anything that isn't built in (including saving text files). Are you kidding me? Maybe 0.1% of the people who have a computer have a hard drive that big, but those people probably can't even run games made by MMF2 in the first place. Unless you are talking about tablets and phones...
OLD. Your statement for the upper 0.1% of the population is just plain wrong. Please upload a mfa that you have created. I want to see it. The reason I want to see it is because I think you have not developed an application or game.

TGF 1.X and MMF 1.5 AFAIR had ~512 Frames limit after that point it was crashing TGF, in MMF 2.X it was double of that 1024...
Other 'known/verified' limitations (Most of them hard tested by several users):
