Character Creator
Hello, I'm new to MMF2, just got it off the Humble Bundle yesterday. I've been having a blast with it. Today, I started making a game on it, which I plan to include a character creator in. Something where you're presented with a bunch of categories with different items to choose from to customize you're character, like hair, clothes, skin color and such.
My problem is, I have no idea how to even BEGIN on this. I haven't any idea what to do for anything, and so I came here to ask:
Does anyone have any ideas on how to do this?
-
Well, this is the sort of feature that is a little bit much for your first game, or even one of your first games. You should probably make a bunch of smaller games before making something more complicated like that. However, I could make you an example to show you the basics, but expanding it to have more customization than the example I make might be a little difficult.

Okay, the example is attached. I hope it helps!

Yeah, it might be ambitious, but it's something I've wanted to do for a long time, and I'm an ambitious person.
Also humble, apparently.
Anyways, thanks for the example, I'll take a look at the Events and such to get an idea of how it would wor
Thanks!
EDIT: If I might ask, what sort of object are the body parts?
-
You're welcome! Just be warned, if your project turns out to be really complex, you might get stuck at some point if you don't already have enough experience with MMF2.
-
It turned out I couldn't figure out what the object was, nor exactly how it worked, so I just started editing yours. I'm working on the bodies now, I'm going to add in the Events later. Hope it's okay I used it!
-
OH- Just a side note, I WILL add your name in the credits when the game is finished. You've been a great help!
-
ZycroNeXus, he used the Active object, which is the object you'll probably use the most in your game creations, as it can have animations as well as movement and alterable strings and values.
-
Ah, yes, thank you Popcorn. I had been wondering, and I don't think I could've figured it out on my own. Not for a while, anyways.
-
Oh my gosh thank you so much for this! I was wanting to do this with my first project as well! Sorry for bumping and old thread but this is perfect.

Uhh, you're welcome! Wasn't expecting to see one of my older examples still be helping people so much! XD
