Score grow from left to right

Hello,

I m with a simple issue here, trying to solve it but with many attempts now a huge succes...

The scores keeps overlaping the tittle of it.
I added the action

If SCORE is overlaping Tittle: set SCORE x to - SCOREx + 3

so it slides to de right. But in the device some times it starts really far away.
To problem starts becouse the score grows from right to left, i did no find a way to set it to make it grow from left to right.

And why in pc the positions starts the way it is set, and in IOS starts far away?
Only happens to the score.

You could try using a String object to make the counter grow from left to right - always (or, more efficiently, when the score changes) set the string to:

Str$(value("My counter object"))

I wouldn't use a string object if it was for mobile though. Strings and counters slow down iOS and Android. You're better off searching how to do text blitting, using custom bitmap fonts

But is for a menu... and i belive that the new devices are very powerfull now...

For menu maybe it's okay, not for levels / gameplay.

Strings and counters slow down gameplay in mobile games, if they are being regularly updated, see this link: http://www.clickteam.com/tutorials

Try optimizing everything else first, but if you still have performance issues, you can do what is called "Text Blitting" which means to create your own custom text with active objects. If your score is not updating very often though, it may not be a big issue.

The other thing to remember is, make your games at the smallest resolution possible and let the software scale it up at runtime. For example, I am making my current game at 270 x 135, which will scale up 8 times for HD phones. This uses less memory. I can make it so small because I'm using pixel art.

There is supposed to be a new Android Exporter coming out that is much faster and should also make some of these things less of an issue.

Bitmap counters are very fast. Text-based counters are on the other hand slow because it both involves drawing vector fonts into a texture, transfering that texture to the graphics card and then displaying it on screen. Bitmap counters have on the other hand everything ready for them and just has to instruct the runtime to draw it's already existing images.

When you say bitmap counters, are you referring to the standard counter object? So if I used that, with PNG images, that would be okay for mobile then?

Let me phrase that question better: When you say bitmap counters, do you mean the standard counter object, or custom counters with text blitting using active objects?
