Export object action, or a frame in Animated GIF format?

Is there a way hat I can export an object's current action being previewed, or a single frame in CTF into an animated GIF for display only? Like for example, if I write, or program movement of an animation that is less than 50 frames or something? Things just like animated banners, or avatars and stuff.

When I tried the little disk icon for export action, all it does is export one frame, or all frames individually, or as a sprite sheet. Is there a way I can export as an animated GIF already created?
