I have purchased the math tutorials but I am confused on this, i want to pin an object relative to anothers

I understand I can do this with built in set position and tick the object advanced properties for relative options but Id like to understand the math way to do it?
for instance
setting a object to a relative position when the other one changes its angle
If you want the "math way" I remember dealing with something similar in this thread:

Basically, you just need to store starting distance of the two objects,
and then use some trigonometry to recalculate new position based on rotating object's angle
There could be other, maybe "handyer" ways of doing this by playing with hot spots,
depending on what you exactly want to achieve
I want like something like a trailer to always follow behind.. maybe it is easier just to use positioning...... hmmm
Is it something like a "plane burst" trail, that will be constantly impressed and then fade out,
or few fixed objects that will always follow, like a "caterpillar"?
actually it is a horse with separate body parts in top down view because it is a farming game
Then you'll probably better choose a "main" bodypart (chest?),
move it at your preference and always "attach" other parts to it.
Make sure you place the hot-spot in the center of chest,
and same for the center of other bodyparts,
the rest could be just something like:

set "bottom_right_leg" position at 20,50 from "chest"
set "bottom_left_leg" position at -20,50 from "chest"
etc.
set angle of "bodyparts_group" to angle("chest")
I have discovered atan2 but I am having confusion using it. I will attempt some examples.

i cant understand the adding of x based on a cos value of an angle and how it can be kept relative.
for instance, I get x, but how does adding the cos value of the ObjectOther.Angle

X: 123 + Cosine(0 + 180) =
Y: 398

hmm i guess id rather like a laymans terms explanation of what cosine and sine is exactly, as I have many plans to use it in my games for all types of things... someone told me it is
"a point of a circle with a radius of 1"
and cos(0) = 1 while sine(90) = 1
it causes my brain to break trying to understand this, but it seems really important. and Atan2 is that just finding difference between two points? including the angle of the two locations which comes naturally from X, Y coordinates?

In layman terms:
let's say you have a circle with a radius of 10
say you "angle" this radius by 30 degrees,
and now you want to find it's X-Y components
(i.e. how far it has gone to the left, and how far up)
because you are moving your object on a cartesian plane
to find X components you must just multiply 10 (radius) * Cos(angle)
to find Y components you must just multiply 10 (radius) * Sin(angle)
Think of sin and cos as "ratios",
how much your radius horizontal/vertical components has shrunk when it's been angled
Pay attention to the fact that X-Y coordinates in fusion are integers
while sin and cos will most likely return float values
So you'll better do your calculations using alterable values (can hold float values)
and then position your objects basing on that values.
As for Atan2, this in an inverse function (trigonometric functions give ratios from angles, while inverse functions give angles from ratios)
returns the angle of the line drawn within 2 given points and the horizontal x axis
